STATEMENT OF FAITH

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man and that it is inspired by God; it is totally true with no error in its original manuscripts.

We firmly believe in the deity of Jesus Christ.  We believe He is God, He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and He died on the cross for the redemption of mankind’s sin.  We believe His burial and bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven and present ministry of intercession for the Church, and His return to earth in power and glory.

We believe in the person and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in unbelievers and indwells believers, enabling them to live victorious and Godly lives in this present age.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but because of sin became alienated from God and had no capacity to know God.

We believe that we can only be saved from the wrath and judgment of God by trusting in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, along with His death and bodily resurrection.  Through faith in Christ Jesus and His completed work sinful man can be saved and delivered.

We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operational in the body of Christ and that they are for the edification of every believer.

We believe that God has called every believer to come to maturity in Him.  We are to be filled to the fullness as we yield our lives to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that when we pray and ask for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we will receive a prayer language; it is for every believer and it edifies (builds up) the believer.

We believe marriage is an ordinance and sacrament of the Church ordained and established by God.  This church recognizes marriage as exclusively the legal union of one man (born as a male and living as a male) and one woman (born as a female and living as a female), in which such union is a lifetime commitment.  It was first instituted by God in the early chapters of Genesis and codified in the Levitical law. The Old Testament prophets compared it to a relationship between God and His people.  Examples of it are in the historical narratives and the wisdom (poetic) books discuss the unique unity of this relationship.  Jesus explained the original intention and core elements of marriage and several New Testament Epistles give explicit instructions on this union.  Marriage is a typology of Christ and the Church.  As such, the Church views marriage as a profound spiritual institution established by God.  We believe sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage.  Hence, sexual activities, such as but not limited to, adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, pedophilia and bestiality are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church.  Further, lascivious behavior, the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography, and efforts to alter one’s gender, are incompatible with the biblical witness.  Weddings in this church are Christian worship services.

We believe in the rapture, the physical removal of the body of Christ from this world preceding the seven-year tribulation, and thereafter Christ’s thousand-year reign.
